Filming and Photography at the Devon and Exeter Institution
The Devon and Exeter Institution’s Grade II* listed building and historic Georgian library provide a unique and atmospheric setting for film and photography. We have extensive experience working with production teams to help them make the most of our location. From documentaries and fashion shoots to television dramas and feature films, we welcome a wide range of creative projects.
Due to the unique and fragile nature of our building and collections, we ask that all potential bookings begin with a discussion of your requirements to ensure we can accommodate your project appropriately.
Please note that the following rates serve as a guideline — we are happy to provide tailored quotes based on individual needs:
Standard Rates
Tuesday–Friday, 10.00am–5.00pm: £150 per hour
After 5.00pm: £200 per hour
Sunday/Monday: Out-of-hours fee of £200 per hour
Research/preparation time: £30 per hour
If filming or photography takes place in shared or public areas during our opening hours, we will need to carefully consider the impact on other users of the building.
Recent hires include: BBC One Who do you Think You Are? , Channel Four Britain Behind Bars and the forthcoming BBC Empire series.
